This project was a submission for the Ayrton Boredom Buster Competition.

“Alone” by Marshmello was chosen for two reasons. The first was that he made a great music video to tell the story of the track and secondly because he had a recognizable 3D model which is always a challenge.  I wanted to do something that was modern EDM with all the hits and glitch that put an emphasis on timecode programming.

The first step was taking the video with the audio and adding a timecode signal.  That computer output an NDI signal that held the main video wall and separately the audio, and sync sources.  I used another machine to make a secondary NDI video source for the 4 hanging diamond truss structures and a third for the video source on the Ayrton Dreampanel.  Then I used a 4th computer to program and output the lighting.  Everything was controlled via the timecode including the virtual camera movements.  Once its all timecoded I shoot the final product using OBS and put it into Final Cut Pro for post production.  Here an intro and outro are added as well as any cuts between the various virtual camera options.
